THE KING IS DEAD
H.R. Giger recently died on Monday May 12th 2014, at the age of 74. He was much more than simply ‘the Alien designer.’ His work was wholly original, and there will only ever be mere imitators after him. H.R. Giger’s works were some of my first artistic influences, dark and honest. Even to this day he is one of my absolute favorite artists and inspirations. No other artist could capture the dual Nature of predation and lust, Thanatos and Eros, dystopian landscapes filled with monsters equipped to devour you or fuck you.
Hail to the king! Giger will be sorely missed. May all artists aspire to such glory.
